The healing properties and validity of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) in humans has been recognized by Medicare for over twenty years. Now, an animal hyperbaric chamber, smaller and more compact than a human chamber, has been introduced by Hyperbaric Veterinary Medicine™ LLC, for small animals. We are proud to provide this revolutionary piece of veterinary medical equipment in order to offer pets the best in health care.
HVM is dedicated to our patients’ protection and focuses strict attention on safety. Through extensive written and video training, technicians are instructed to remove any metal from an animal before HBOT. In addition, the HVM chamber is fully grounded to eliminate risk. All Hyperbaric Veterinary Medicine chambers meet the industry standard of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section Eight and the National Fire Protection Act Section 99, Chapters 5 and 20, which are the same standards used by human chamber manufacturers.
Safely and painlessly, oxygen delivered to the patient in the hyperbaric chamber is inhaled and absorbed by the body at pressure many times greater than when breathing oxygen at normal sea level pressure. Under hyperbaric pressure, healing oxygen is dissolved in the blood plasma, cerebrospinal and lymph fluids, enabling oxygen to reach damaged tissue at least 3 to 4 times farther than normally diffused by red blood cells. This is especially important in swollen and inflamed tissues where small blood vessels have been spread apart and oxygen from red blood cells is unable to diffuse out far enough to supply the needs of damaged cells.
Veterinarians can now offer HBOT to their patients and referral clients, delivering consistently positive results in challenging cases with no capital at risk. Contact us to learn more.Request Literature
